This is a lovely example of a 1960s Lava Lamp by Crestworth (pre Mathmos) It is called an Astro Lantern

Totally unique combo

with some repairs that are not obvious

For toast originally, but works great for bills letters etc too Bloomin hard to date, as no clues on it anywhere. I would say 1970s, but could be earlier? Soo kitsch. Made from a silver metal, which could be silver plate looking at the tarnish, but again, no hallmarks, so cannot be sure. Heavy weight with a green baize bottom Has a removable rack, for cleaning, so could also be used as a trinket dish or something else perhaps?
