Schwind was an Austrian painter born in Vienna. He was commissioned in 1834 to decorate King Ludwigs new palace with wall paintings illustrating the works of the poet Tieck. This is a beautiful image showing a young girl who appears to be going on an adventure. You cannot tell where she's coming from or going to, yet it seems like an interesting voyage. There
