Germany, Imperial. A Mint Gold Grade Wound Badge, Cut-Out Version United Republic of marked S 990 and SF(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath with scalloped edges, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm overlaying crossed swords on a hollow void, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened and rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 38. 33 mm (w) x 43. 40 mm (h), weighing 8. 4 grams, a scarce variant in near mint condition.
