This vintage banjo features a pearloid fretboard with unique native inlays. Pealoid is constructed of celluloid plastic laminate that is made to look like mother of pearl. After losing his banjo factory in Connecticut to a hurricane Fred Bacon went into business with Gretsch, who not long after purchased the Bacon name in 1940. This Bacon Belmont banjo was produced by Gretsch between 1946 and 1950
